Mensuration Formula (Of 2D & 3D Shapes ) Mensuration all Formulas List With Pdf

hello students , here is a list of Mensuration Formula used in mensuration. this is the most important formulas list of Mensuration and this formula list is most important for your preparation . (this is also for JEE Mains and Advance students and also for class 10th and 12th students ) you can download this in pdf format .

  1. Rectangle:
       – Area = length × width
       – Perimeter = 2(length + width)
  2. Square:
       – Area = side × side
       – Perimeter = 4 × side
  3. Triangle:
       – Area = (base × height) / 2
       – Perimeter = sum of lengths of all sides
  4. Circle:
       – Area = πr² (where r is the radius)
       – Circumference = 2πr
  5. Parallelogram:
       – Area = base × height
       – Perimeter = 2(length + width)
  6. Trapezoid:
       – Area = (sum of lengths of parallel sides × height) / 2
       – Perimeter = sum of lengths of all sides
  7. Rhombus:
       – Area = (diagonal₁ × diagonal₂) / 2
       – Perimeter = 4 × side
  8. Regular Polygon (n-sided):
       – Area = (1/4) × n × side² × cot(π/n)
       – Perimeter = n × side
  9. Sphere:
       – Surface Area = 4πr²
       – Volume = (4/3)πr³
  10. Cube:
       – Surface Area = 6 × side²
       – Volume = side³
  11. Cylinder:
       – Surface Area = 2πrh + 2πr²
       – Volume = πr²h
  12. Cone:
       – Surface Area = πr(r + √(r² + h²))
       – Volume = (1/3)πr²h
  13. Pyramid:
       – Surface Area = (1/2) × Perimeter of base × slant height + base area
       – Volume = (1/3) × base area × height
  14. Rectangular Prism (Box):
       – Surface Area = 2(length × width + width × height + length × height)
       – Volume = length × width × height
  15. Ellipsoid:
       – Volume = (4/3)πabc (where a, b, c are the semi-axes)
S.No.NamePerimeterArea
1.Rectangle2(a+b)ab
2.Square4aa^2(a Square)
3.Circle2πrπr²
4.Semi Circle πr + 2r1/2 (πr²)
5.Right Triangleb+h+d1/2(bh)

Formulas of 2D Shapes:

ShapeAreaPerimeter
Scalene Triangle√[s(s−a)(s−b)(s−c)],
Where, s = (a+b+c)/2
a+b+c
Isosceles Triangle½ × b × h2a + b
Equilateral triangle(√3/4) × a23a
Trapezium½ h(a+c)
a+b+c+d
Parallelogramb × h2(l+b)

These are some of the most common formulas used in mensuration. There are more specialized formulas for other geometrical shapes and solids.
